Thank a Health Care Worker with a REAL Award Nomination! #TheRealAwards

It seems like the frequency of award shows on TV is only surpassed by the number of silly reality shows. And most of the time the award shows are just as silly. They are awards for people that entertain in one manner or another, never awards for real heroes.

What is a hero?

I think a hero is someone that saves lives and makes a difference. First Responders and the military do get some acknowledgement (not enough) but one type of hero that never seems to get honored are health care workers.

Meet Esther Madudu she is one of the real heroes. She may look ordinary but she really is Extraordinary! She is a midwife in rural Uganda helping save lives in a facility with no power. It’s estimated that she has saved the lives of hundreds of mothers and babies to date!

She is just one of the global health workers that the REAL awards are celebrating, people who challenge the odds everyday to save lives.

In addition to celebrating global health workers, the REAL awards are honoring health workers in the United States!

Do you know a heath care worker who goes the extra mile? You can thank them by nominating them for a REAL award.

The public can read the inspirational stories of the international REAL Awards honorees and nominate a health worker in the United States at www.theREALawards.com until November 29, 2012. Winners will be announced the week of January 13, 2013 during a time when much of the American public is tuning in to traditional entertainment awards shows such as the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

What EXTRAORDINARY health care worker will you nominate?
