Our Westin Kierland Resort and Spa Accommodations {Travel Tuesday}

October 16, 2012 · 7 comments

A few weeks ago Peter and I had the opportunity to sneak away to Phoenix for a night without the boys. We had a short but incredible stay at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa Scottsdale.

I have been dying to share my review of the property because I highly recommend staying there! Based on stays at other resorts we expected a really great experience but the Westin Kierland proved to be on a whole other level! The luxury of the resort and attention to detail of the staff was apparent from the moment we arrived.

Every Westin Kierland employee we encountered treated us like valuable guests. Our front desk clerk was especially attentive, noting our existing dinner reservations and also graciously helping us find directions to an event in Mesa.

And not only was the staff awesome but the property was too!

The view from our room grabbed our attention immediately. We had a sweet little balcony with a fabulous view of the golf course and resort grounds.

Our room was very large, 426 square feet to be exact. It was very well appointed with a Westin Signature Heavenly Bed and large leather chair that could be pulled out into a sleeper if necessary. Always the mom, I also noticed that there was plenty of space for the kiddos. Normally they travel with us so having enough space is important!

There was also lots of little touches that made the room stand out.  The bathroom was particularly spacious with a bath tub and separate shower with dual showerheads. Things like a lighted make up mirror, a digital scale and even a plunger in the bathroom were unexpected touches.

There was even filtered water available by the ice machine on our floor. Seriously every Phoenix hotel and resort should offer that feature! I hate relying on bottled water. And I know many people would appreciate that the in-room coffee was Starbucks.

Tell me, what is your favorite luxury resort amenity?

The Westin Kierland has lots of great activities including a water park and several yummy food options, including Deseo.  Our meal at Deseo was so awesome it might have turned us into foodies! I will leave you with a sneak peek of the dessert awesomeness. It was completely edible except of course the paper “cigar” wrapper. Smile

And don’t forget to check out our complete Deseo dining experience!

Disclosure: No compensation was received for this post. Complimentary accommodations were provided for review purposes. As always all thoughts and opinions are my own!

Wow! What a great place! Seeing all of these pictures makes me excited to get away with hubby here in a few weeks! If I ever head that direction, I will have to check them out!

Wow – what a fantastic view! I am loving that dual showerhead in the bathroom too! I’ve never seen that at a resort before – very cool!

Looks like an oasis, and place of relaxation! The shower is fascinating, why the dual shower head?!

Bring on the chocolate…you had me at dessert!

Ahhh!! I love the dessert! And it seems like an amazing hotel – the Starbucks coffee would be our favorite!
